Yucai Graduate Zhang Chuwei has secured a place in University of Cambridge

Zhang Chuwei, the graduate of Yucai Bilingual School Junior Section 2008, has been recruited by University of Cambridge, Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics (DPMMS) Combined Bachelor’s-Master’s Degree Program. At the same time, Zuo Chenyi, another graduate of Yucai, has been admitted by the University of Warwick and majored in Mathematics and Statistics.
 
After graduated from Yucai, Zhang Chuwei furthered his study at Ruthin School in UK together with Zou Chenyi. In year 2008, Zhang Chuwei scored the highest marks among all Asian competitors in the A-Level full scholarship competitive examination. The full scholarship is only offered to 10 candidates every year.
 
Zhang’s performance at Ruthin was excellent. In 2009, he represented Ruthin School to participate in the National Chemistry Experiment Competition together with two other schoolmates, both came from Nepal and Hong Kong respectively. His team won the top prize awarded by the Royal Society of Chemistry. His performance, both academic and non-academic, got an extremely high approval from the Principal of Ruthin School. “Teaching Chuwei mathematics is challenging, as he always demands to know why.” said the Principal, who graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University with Master Degree in Mathematics.
 
For the past three consecutive years, a plenty of Yucai graduates had successfully entered Ruthin School to further their studies. Their excellence and talent have earned their Alma Mater a high reputation overseas.
